12 month update and Birthday pics...

Didn't you HATE to get shots when you were little? I did. I still hate it. And now it's even harder to have to watch my sweet little boy have to get his. BLEH!!

The doctor said Jax is looking good. Doing all the things he should (except waving bye bye - dang it!!) But he's ahead in the walking category, so we'll take that :) He weighs 19 pounds 7 ounce (5th percentile) and is 28 1/4 inches tall (9th percentile). Still has a big head...it's in the 50th percentile. HAHHA!! At least he doesn't look like his head is big :)

Now to his birthday.... It was a lot of fun and we had a great turnout. Jax has a lot of friends!! We had one little incident....

The last few weeks Jax has started blowing. So, when it was time to blow out the candle, I tried to let him blow it out, but he decided to put it out with his fingers. So, he didn't like that. There was no mark, and it was a little delayed reaction on the scream, but...Lesson Learned: practice blowing the candle out BEFORE the party :)

He did seem to like the cake and icing once he got done being upset. He loved his presents. As can be expected - he wanted to play with each toy he got instead of opening the next one. Thankfully mommy - a professional present opener - was there with him to help.

So far we are three days into being 1 year old and it's pretty dang good. He is saying more words and that is so cute!! He is showing more of a temper, but we are dealing with that and won't give in to him - unless he puts himself in danger, which he seems to like to do. We are loving hanging out with him and watching him do all his new things every day. It's so wonderful. :)

Happy 1st Birthday Jax!!!!

It's been one year. I can't even believe it. One year ago he was a tiny helpless baby. Now he can walk and talk and play and feed himself.

Babies change so very much in their first years. It's probably why the time goes by so fast. You are constantly watching them do something new. They are learning new things just as quickly it seems.

I think I speak for both David and myself when I say that Jax is such a happy part of our life now. Our lives are completely changed and we wouldn't have it any other way. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful son.

Happy Birthday sweet baby boy. Mommy and Daddy love you so very much.

Tomorrow is Jackson's birthday party. He is looking forward to all our friends and family coming to play with him. We will post pictures in a few days, or less if I'm feeling ambitious.

I am hoping to do better about posting in this new year of Jax's life. I really do have a lot to say...just have to find the time to say it!

He's Walking!!

Jax started taking steps on his 11 month birthday. One or two steps here and there - but now he's doing a lot more. And he'll even do it on his own. He'll be cruising around the couch and decide he needs to go across the room, so he'll just go. Here is a video we got today of him walking to me from David. It's short but so sweet. :)




I can not believe my baby will be a year old in just over 2 weeks. I can not believe a year can pass so quickly. I will try to update the blog one more time before his birthday to share pictures from our big family vacation in Gulf Shores a couple weeks ago.
